The company was originally incorporated as Ram Ratna Winding Wires Pvt. Limited on July 21, 1992. Subsequently the company was converted from private limited to public limited and changed its name to Ram Ratna Wires Ltd.

The company is engaged in manufacturing of enamelled copper winding wires. Its products include modified polyester copper wires, polyesterimide wires, polyurethane self solderable wires and dual coated wires.

It all started with the dream of an inspired man determined to realize his vision. A very humble beginning was made. The Group Chairman, Rameshwarlal Kabra, established a small electrical trading shop in the city of Bombay. His simple strategy was to work hard, establish, consolidate and then move into manufacturing. Growth was slow and steady. Four decades and seven companies later, today the Group is among the market leaders in this segment.
