Cholamandalam Financial Holdings (CFHL) was incorporated in 1949 and is a part of the Murugappa Group, one of the most diversified business conglomerates of India. Consequent to the scheme of arrangement (demerger) sanctioned by the National Company Law Tribunal, the manufacturing business of the Company was transferred to a separate company and the company retained its finance business.
CFHL is registered with the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) as a Non-Deposit taking Systemically Important - Core Investment Company (CIC-ND-SI) pursuant to the receipt of Certificate of Registration from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) dated January 6, 2020, under Section 45-IA of the Reserve Bank of India Act, 1934.
The company undertakes financial services business through its Subsidiaries - Cholamandalam MS General Insurance Company for general insurance business and Cholamandalam Investment and Finance Company and its subsidiaries for lending and wealth management operations. Risk advisory services are carried out through a joint venture entity Cholamandalam MS Risk Services.
- Cholamandalam Investment and Finance Company (CIFCL), a non-banking finance company engaged in lending business, offers vehicle finance, home loans, loan against property, SME loans, secured business and personal loans, consumer & small enterprises loans, consumer durable loans, gold loans and a variety of other financial services to customers.
- Cholamandalam MS General Insurance Company (CMSGICL), engaged in general insurance business, offers a wide range of insurance products that include Motor, Health, Property, Accident, Engineering, Liability, Marine, Travel and Crop insurance for individuals and corporates.
- Cholamandalam MS Risk Services (CMSRSL) offers comprehensive Risk Management and Engineering solutions.
