The company was incorporated in year 2000 as ‘Tejas Networks India Private Limited’ under the Companies Act, 1956, and having its Registered Office in Karnataka, India. The Company was converted into a public limited company pursuant to a resolution of their Shareholders at an extraordinary general meeting held on October 23, 2002 and consequently, the name of Company was changed to Tejas Networks Limited and a fresh certificate of incorporation consequent upon conversion to public limited company was issued by the Registrar of Companies, Mumbai (‘RoC’) on March 18, 2008.

The company has an established local presence in India with four sales offices and 15 support centres around the country, which enable it to provide high quality customer support. Its products have been deployed by leading telecommunications operators in India, such as Bharti Airtel Limited, Tata Communications, Aircel Limited and Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited, with whom it has long-standing customer relationships. Further, large public sector utilities such as Power Grid Corporation of India, RailTel Corporation of India, are its customers.

Business area of the company

The company design, develop and sell high-performance and cost-competitive products to telecommunications service providers, internet service providers, utility companies, defence companies and government entities in over 60 countries. These products are used in building high-speed communication networks to carry voice, data and video traffic from fixed line, mobile and broadband networks over optical fiber. Its products utilize a programmable software-defined hardware architecture with a common software code-base that delivers an app-like ease of development and upgrades of new features and technology standards. The company's products are deployed in the networks of many large global network operators, spanning over 60 countries.
