SRU Steels was incorporated as SRU Knitters (SRU) on September 11, 1995. The company received Certificate for Commencement of Business on September 12, 1995. The name of the company has been changed from SRU Knitters to SRU Steels with effect from April 13, 2010.

The growing demand of steel and steel products in future due to the development of various infrastructure and housing projects and is further planning to add on the mode of distribution of products in the market via direct sale to the customer along with consignment sales. The Company also has a franchisee of Jindal Steel & Power for trading in steel.

The company shares are listed on Delhi Stock Exchange, Ahmadabad Stock Exchange and Ludhiana Stock Exchange.
