SRM Energy was incorporated at Bombay on September 3, 1985 and obtained the certificate of commencement of business on February 4, 1986. It was promoted by K K Hitakri and Ved Kapoor of Hitkari group and BM Chaturvedi. The company manufactures non-woven fabrics based on needle punching technology.

The preparatory plant for non-woven fabrics was imported from Heregeth Hollingworth of West Germany.

The registered office of the company is located at 36/37, Mittal Chambers, Nariman Point Mumbai, Maharashtra 400021.
