The company obtained its certificate of commencement of business on September 23, 1983.The name of the company was changed to Prasant Global Finance Limited in the year 1985 and finally to Silicon Valley Infotech Limited in the year 1998. The company shifted it’s registered office from New Delhi to its current location in Kolkata in the year 1995.

The company is engaged in the business of granting loans & advances and investment in shares & securities. As a part of the diversification programme the company had set up a 2.46 MW wind farm project at Kayathar in Tamilnadu. Elmostate Electron Limted and Arihant Investment Trust Limited, two companies that were engaged in the business of investment in share and securities and advancing of short term financing were amalgamated with the company.
