Omega Ag-seeds (Punjab) was established in 1992 at Chandigarh. The company is listed on the BSE. Punjab Agro Industries Corporation (PAIC), a premier organization of the Punjab Government has been doing outstanding work in the field of project development, contract farming, marketing of quality agricultural inputs, promotion/ assistance in export and distant marketing of horticulture produce. PAIC has in total of 44 projects out of which Omega Ag-Seeds (Punjab) Ltd is one among them.

Omega Ag-seeds (Punjab) project was commenced on April 1, 1991.The main product for this project was hybrid seeds. This project incurred a cost of Rs.54 million and the equity raised for this was Rs 8 million.

The company, in the year 2009, launched its research and development activities at Hyderabad. The objective of the research and development was to produce high variety of seeds to suit the farmers' needs.

Though the company is in the process of seeking voluntary delisting of its securities from some of the stock exchanges, the indented resolution is sought to be approved. The listing of share will continue on the Bombay Stock Exchange.
