NPR Finance was incorporated on June 12, 1989 and was converted into a deemed public limited company on September 30, 1989. Consequently the word private was deleted from its name. The company is organized around the three business segments of financial, money changing, and wind power generation.

Financial activities consist of granting loans covered by leasing and hypothecation agreements, shares and securities. In the power generation sector, the company has installed two wind turbines in the state of Maharashtra. It has branches in New Delhi, Agra, Mumbai, Jaipur, Ahmadabad, Chennai and Kochi.

With regards to the business of real estate, the company has recently entered into an agreement for purchase of 40 bighas of land in the District of North 24 Parganas for developmental purposes.
