Nahar Capital and Financial Services (NCFSL), a Nahar Group company, was incorporated on March 31, 2006 as a public limited company under the Companies Act, 1956. The company was incorporated to diversify the Nahar Group’s activities into financial and capital markets. The objective of incorporation was to carry on the investment business, which was hived off from Nahar Spinning Mills Limited pursuant to the Scheme of Demerger and Arrangement duly approved by the Punjab and Haryana High Court, Chandigarh, vide order dated December 21, 2006.
The company is registered with the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) as a Non-Deposit Taking Non-Banking Financial Company (NBFC-ND). It has been categorized as a Systemically Important Non-Deposit Taking Non-Banking Financial Company (NBFC-ND-SI) as per the Non-Banking Financial (Non-Deposit Accepting or Holding) Companies Prudential Norms Directions, 2007 issued by the Reserve Bank of India.
The company’s main business activity is to carry on investment in shares, debentures, stocks, bonds, securities of all kinds, and other businesses generally carried on by finance and investment companies. It engages in investment activities with a long-term perspective as well as trading activities to benefit from short-term market opportunities.
Considering the strong business opportunities available in the real estate sector and to diversify its activities for better growth, the company, pursuant to Board and Shareholders’ resolutions, decided to undertake a new line of business, namely real estate.
