Monnet Industries was incorporated as a private company on September 14, 1982, and converted into a public company on February 25, 1984. The company, earlier known as Monnet Ferro Alloys, got its present name on August 30, 1994.

Monnet Industries is part of the Monnet group, a multi-unit establishment engaged in the manufacturing of steel, power, ferro alloys, sponge iron power generation and mining activities.
