Metal Coatings (India) was incorporated on December 12, 1994 to take over the assets of a profit-making partnership firm set up in 1988 with the same name. The company has been promoted by R C Khandelwal, R S Khandelwal and V P Khandelwal.

Cold-rolled steel strips, hot-rolled pickled & oiled coils and strips, cold-rolled flat wire strips, and galvanized wires and strips are manufactured by the company, which find application in the auto components, power transmission equipment, white goods, defence equipment, electrical equipment and other industrial sectors. Manufacturing facilities are located in the Faridabad district of Haryana with installed capacities of 17,000 MTPA cold-rolled strips and 3,500 MTPA galvanized iron wires and strips.

The company now envisages enhancing its capacity to 13200 MT through an expansion-cum-backward integration scheme spread over the existing and new site at Plot No. 113, HSIDC Industrial Estate, Sector 59, Faridabad. In order to meet its requirement of CRCA strips, MCIL is installing a CR Mill of 13000 TPA, CR slitting unit of 12300 TPA and other balancing equipments. After the implementation of the project, the entire requirement of CRCA strips would be met from in-house.
