The company is engaged in diversified business activities related to sugar, molasses, ethanol, and power co-generation. The company is engaged in three major segments, namely Sugar, Cogeneration of power (Cogen) and Distillery. The company is equipped with a facility of producing white sugar by reprocessing only raw sugar and also reprocessing of raw sugar along with cane. Its group companies are Kothari Petrochemicals, the largest Polyisobutene manufacturer in India and Kothari Safe Deposits one of the oldest public limited companies in India engaged in the business of giving on hire safe deposit lockers.

• 2018-2019: The company’s Sathamangalam unit was awarded in the following categories based on 2018-2019 Operations: Golden Award - for ‘Best Sugarcane Development’; and (ii) Platinum Award - for ‘Best Technical Efficiency’.
• 2018-2019: The company’s Sathamangalam unit was awarded Best Overall Performance of Sugar Mill award for the year 2018 – 2019 by the BHARATIYA Sugar Awards.
• 2020-2021: The company’s Sathamangalam unit secured first place and the ‘Overall Best Performance Award’ in the 52nd Sugarcane Research & Development Workshop of Tamilnadu and Puducherry for the involvement and inspiration shown by the team of officials and employees during the Crushing Season 2020-2021. 
• 2021-22: The company’s Kattur unit has received Best Distillery-Platinum Award- Tamilnadu Region from the SISSTA in August 2022.
• 2021-22: Overall Best Performance award - under Category of Private Sugar Mills in Tamil Nadu Region was received from the Government of Tamilnadu in May 2022.
• 2021-22 Best Technical Efficiency (2021-22) - Silver award in Tamil Nadu Region was received from the SISSTA on August 27, 2022.
• 2022-23: Kattur Distilery unit has received Best Distillery-Platinum Award - (2022-23) - Tamilnadu Region from the SISSTA
• 2022-23: Best Technical Efficiency (2022-23) - Gold award in Tamil Nadu Region was received from the SISSTA.
• 2022-23: Best overall performance sugar mill award was received from Bharatiya Sugar.
• 2023-24: Kattur Distilery unit has received Best Distillery-Platinum Award - (2023-24) - Tamilnadu Region from the SISSTA.
