Hindoostan Mills was incorporated in 1873 under the leadership of Sheth Thackersey Moolji. In the 1990’s a state of the art Textile Mill was set up in Karad, district Satara, Maharashtra. In 2011 the company has changed its name from Sirdar Carbonic Gas Company Ltd. to Hindoostan Mills Ltd.The company is located at 215-219, 2nd Floor, Sir Vithaldas Chambers, 16, Samachar Marg Mumbai in Maharashtra.
Today all the manufacturing activities are located there. The company installed 5 new ring frames, an open end spinning machine, 4 new generation winding machines such as auto coner wide width.
The company’s products are Greige fabrics in Plain, Matty, 3/1Drill, 2/1Twill, Gabardine, Satin, Duck, Herring Bone Weaves. The company’s main products are used for bottom weight fabrics, bull denim, corduroy Industrial canvas and work-wear fabrics. Also, the company has products for sheetings in narrow and wider widths using 12s to 60s Count Cotton as well P/C yarns.
The company’s latest addition is the manufacturing of fine shirting fabrics. Essentially all its products are designed as per the customers’ requirements and in tune with the changing market trends. The company has a focus on product development and strives to fulfill the customers’ aspirations in terms of quality and product variations. All fabrics produced are well inspected as per acceptable international standards.
In 2012 its wholly owned subsidiary Hindoostan Technical Fabrics Ltd (HTFL) tied-up with Japan based Toho Tenax Company Ltd (TOHO) to jointly develop and market Carbon and Aramid Fiber Fabrics in India.
