Genera Agri Corp is a Horticulture Company having base in southern part of India. The company was originally promoted by Late Mr.D.V.S. Anand and Mrs. D.V.S. Lakshmi in the year 1992 with the name and style M/s. Anand Lakshmi Finance Private Limited to carry on business as Non-Banking Finance Company (NBFC). In June 2005, the company surrendered its NBFC license and changed its name to Genera Industries Ltd. In August 2005 (subsequently changed to “Genera Agri Corp Ltd.” in April 2011). In October 2005, the company’s present promoters Mr.M Rajesh Naidu & Mrs.M Kalpana Raj increased their shareholding from 4.99% to 54.99% by acquiring 50.00% of the total paid up equity share capital of “Genera Industries Limited” from erstwhile promoters, namely, Mr.D.N.Ravi Kumar, Mrs.DVS Lakshmi & Public through an open offer. Post-acquisition, the company diversified into Bio Fuels to meet the Global Demand of Jatropha Cultivation and gradually transformed into Horticulture business by cultivating fruits and vegetables. Its promoter and managing director, Mr. M Rajesh Naidu hails from Agriculture family and has more than a decade experience in the field of agriculture.
In year 2009, as a part of its strategy to forward integrate, the company ventured into retail operations through mobile vans and sales outlet at gated community centers. In the fiscal 2011, it started its retail outlet, in the name of “Genera Fresh”. At present, it has 5 retail outlets situated at locations considered to be prime in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh. The company is also engaged in marketing and selling of its crops in domestic as well as international markets.
Business area of the company
The Company is carrying on the business of trading of Agriculture Products. It is a Corporate Farming company in India with farm business model that entails enrolling the farm lands on lease basis and support the farmers with technical and managerial inputs for successfully running farming as a business enterprise. The farms are spread across Andhra Pradesh, Tamilnadu and Maharastra. The company’s unique strength in this business is the extensive backward linkages it has established with the farmer community and has enabled to build a competitive and efficient procurement system. Genera has developed immense capabilities in farming operations and has technically competent and committed team of Scientists, Agronomists, Agribusiness Specialist Economists and Management Graduates.
