Gangotri Textiles incorporated in 1989, is engaged in the business of manufacturing of cotton yarn, elastic yarn, speciality yarn, fabric and readymade garments. The company is promoted by Sri. Manoj Kumar Tibrewal.

Currently, Gangotri Textiles has installed capacity of 5,904 rotors. Company manufactures open-end cotton yarn ranging from 2s to 20s counts. It produces ring spun cotton yarn ranging from 12s to 40s counts

Under fabric segment, it manufactures grey mercerised and dyed variety with a production capacity of 50,000 meters. Company also manufactures readymade clothes for men and women. Company manufactures trousers and 100% cotton and cotton rich shirts. It markets these clothes under the brand name ‘TIBRE’.

GTL has also established wind mills with a total capacity of 3.30 MW and an oil based power generation plant of 2 MW capacity.

Milestones

1989- Gangotri Textiles was incorporated as a private limited company.

1993- The company converted in public limited company. Company commissioned production of its Unit I with 4 O.E frames.

1994- Company expanded Unit I expanded with 2 more O.E. frames 23.

1995- Company started production of Unit II with 7 O. E. frames. 1998- GTL expanded Unit III with 3 more O.E. frames.

2000- GTL launched “Tibre” trousers, a readymade clothes brand.

 2000- Company expanded Unit II with 3 more O.E. frames.

 2002- Company conducted modernisation of Unit- IV. 

2003- Company’s Unit I and II were awarded ISO 9001:2000 certification for Quality Management. 

2004-Company installed a captive power generation plant located at Udumalpet, Unit IV. 

2005- Company installed two windmills of 1.65 M.W each at Udumalpet for captive consumption of power. Company led down expansion project of Rs.351 crores. Company established cotton waste recycling unit (UNIT VII) at Coimbatore.

2009 - Unit 9 commenced its production with 5000 Spindles.
