Dhunseri Tea & Industries (DTIL) is engaged in manufacturing and sale of tea. DTIL has been in the business of manufacturing of Tea for the last several decades. It has been expanding its business operations and it presently has Tea Estates and its Tea Factories in Assam. It also has Tea Estates in Malawi where plantation of Tea and Macadamia are being undertaken. The company is promoting its brand ‘CHHOTE LAL’ which is well received by connoisseurs of high quality, full-bodied Assam tea.
The company’s cultivation practices conform to the best globally standards. It uses eco-friendly practices from mapping soil nutrition, rain water harvesting to cropping patterns and integrated pest management. Its Indian tea estates have been accredited with ISO 22000:2005 food and safety standards. Its estates have also been certified by Trustea attesting that the gardens have a sustainable tea practices.
The company’s Malawi operations have been certified by Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) to manage food safety, Fairtrade to ensure fair pay and working conditions for workers and Rainforest Alliance, which aims to conserve biodiversity and implement ecologically sustainable practices.

- 2015: The company demerged from Dhunseri Petrochem & Tea.
- 2017: The company expanded into the State of Odisha.
- 2017: Soft retail launch of the ‘Lal Ghora’ and ‘Kala Ghora’ brands in Odisha.
- 2017: Soft-launch of ‘Dhunseri Gold’ in Rajasthan.
- 2019: Dhunseri Tea & Industries’ subsidiary -- Dhunseri Petrochem & Tea has incorporated a wholly owned subsidiary by the name ‘Dhunseri Mauritius’ on May 02, 2018.
- 2019: Completed deal with Tata Global Beverages (TGBL) for sale of its branded business namely Lalghora & Kalaghora with the receipt of the full transaction value.
- 2020: The company's wholly owned subsidiary -- MakandiTea &Coffee Estates has acquired a step down wholly owned subsidiary by the name or Nitambi Estate (NEL) located at Malawi.
- 2020: Entered into MoU with Shyam Khetojan Tea Company, a partnership firm, for sale of 'Khetojan Tea Estate' as a going concern on as is where is basis.
- 2021: The company executed agreement for sale of ‘Bahadur Tea Estate’ (excluding the tea manufacturing Factory) with Jalannagar Development.
- 2021: The company entered into MoU for sale of 'Santi Tea Estate', for a consideration of Rs 6.01 crore to Sanjay Rasiwasia or his nominee(s).
- 2022: The company entered into MoU with Warren Tea on January 19, 2022 for acquisition of Balijan North Tea Estate.
- 2022: The company entered into MoU on November 21, 2022 with Warren Tea to acquire three tea estates located in the State of Assam i.e. Duamara Tea Estate, Tara Tea Estate and Deohall Tea Estate.
- 2022: The company entered into a MoU on December 14, 2022 for sale of Khagorijan Tea Estate 'on as is where is basis', jointly to Sahdev Singh Kushwah, Sanwar Mal More and Nikhil Agarwalla.
- 2023: The company entered into Non-Disclosure and Confidentiality Term Sheet with M/s. Tusnial Tea on November 14, 2023 for sale of 'Deohall Tea Estate’.
