Vamotiwala Chemical Industries Limited was originally incorporated on the November 18, 1988 as a Private Limited Company and was converted into a Public Limited Company on the April 15, 1992. Since December 1988, the company has been involved in a phased manner, in activities relating to setting up a project for manufacture of Glycol Ether, Ethylene Oxide Condensate Emulsifier, Vinyl Sulphone and Ethyl Acetate.

The first module of project consisting of Glycol Ether and Ethylene oxide condensate emulsifier plants was put into commercial operation during August 1992. The second module was expected to go on commercial production by fourth quarter of year 1993. In 2008, the company’s name changed from Vamotiwala Chemical Industries Ltd to Caprolactam Chemicals Ltd.

The company has been promoted by Sarvashri Shankar G Bhanushali, Chandrakant K Pandya, Suresh H Nanda & their associates.
