Beeyu Overseas is engaged in the business of manufacturing of orthodox and CTC tea. Besides this, the company is also engaged in packaging and blending of tea and export of tea and coffee which procured from Tata Coffee. Further, company also exports rice, wheat, sesame seed and other agro-based commodities.

The company has received ISO 9000:2001 certification for quality management. It has also been recognised as an Export House by the Government of India.

The company has a subsidiary namely Neelkanth Tea Company. Beeyu Overseas has offices in Russia, India, Leningrad, Kazakhstan and Iran while it’s manufacturing facilities are located in Ooty and Kolkata.

Its clients are located in countries namely Russia, CIS, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Poland, Dubai, Pakistan, Teheran, and other places.

Milestones

• 1993- Beeyu Overseas was incorporated on 4th March 1993.
• 1994- The company established its first overseas office in Moscow to conduct oversees marketing and sales in Russia and CIS countries.
• 1995- It established its second overseas office in Leningrad (St. Petersburg).
• 1996- Beeyu Overseas sets up office an in Cochin to obtain tea, coffee and other agro-based products in South India and assist its international activity.
• 1997-The company opened representative office in Dubai to foray into the Middle-east markets.
• 1998- The company established a tea blending and packing unit at Coimbatore, to expand its overseas tea operations.
• 1999- It acquired a plantation unit in the Nilgiris situated at Doddabetta.
• 2000- Beeyu Overseas set up its first CTC manufacturing unit with a capacity of 1200 tpa located at Nilgiri. The production of this unit started in 15th January, 2001.
• 2001- The company set up its corporate head office at Calcutta.
• 2002- It shifted its blending unit from Coimbatore to the plantation at Doddabetta. The company sets up a 1800 tpa orthodox tea factory at Doddabetta.
• 2003- Beeyu Overseas received ISO 9000:2001 certification from DET NORSKE VERITAS.
• 2004- The company underwent through expansion program by setting up additional CTC and Orthodox tea production facilities.
• 2005- The first phase of expansion program that involved one CTC and one Orthodox tea factory was completed. This led to an increase in production capacity from 3,000 tpa to 6,000 tpa.
• 2006- The second phase was completed by setting up CTC and Orthodox tea factory, thus increasing its capacity to 9,000 tpa.

Future Plans

The company is continuously upgrading its manufacturing process to achieve t he best possible results in terms of tea production and reduction in cost of production.
