AVI Photochem was incorporated on March 7, 1992. The company has a marketing arrangement Allied Photographic, whereby the goods supplied will labeled -- manufactured by AVI Photochem and Marketed by Allied Photographic.

In November 1992, the company came out with a maiden public issue by issuing 24,00,000 equity shares to the public & another 8,00,000 equity shares reserved for promoters. The issue was made for expansion & backward integration & to increase the aggregate capacity to 1800 TPA.
