Adani Power (APL), headquartered in Ahmedabad, is a part of the diversified Adani portfolio and commenced operations in 2006 with the commencement of construction of its first power plant in Mundra, Gujarat. Over the years, the company considerably expanded its portfolio. APL operates thermal power plants across Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, and Tamil Nadu. It is the world’s first company to set up a coal-based Supercritical thermal power project registered under the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) of the Kyoto protocol.
