Upasana Finance Ltd. (UFL) was incorporated under the Companies Act, 1956 in the year 1985 with its Registered Office at Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. It was promoted by the members of the TVS Family on January 25, 1985, under the name of Upaasana Finance Private Limited with a share capital of Rs 5 lacs.  Subsequently it became a Deemed Public Company and the share capital increased to Rs 30 lacs.  The total holding of the promoters stands at Rs 3 crores as on date.

The name of the Company was changed to 'Upasana Finance Limited' with effect from  09.01.1995. In the year 1995, UFL issued Equity Shares of Rs 10 each to public. UFL Equity Shares are listed in Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and Madras Stock Exchange (MSE).

Presently, UFL is registered with Reserve Bank of India as a Non-Deposit taking Non Banking Financial Company (NBFC- ND) and having a valid Certificate of Registration. At present, UFL is concentrating mainly on recovery of past dues of non-performing assets.
