Pudumjee Industries Limited, formerly Pudumjee Agro Industries Limited, was incorporated on December 31, 1965 as a private limited company with the object of running a paper mill at Bombay under the name and style of F Pudumjee & Co Pvt Ltd. It became a deemed public limited company on May 4, 1977 and subsequently was converted into public limited company on January 31, 1986. The name of the company was changed to its present one on March 4, 2008. The company's registered office is at Thergaon, Pune. It is an India-based company and is engaged in the manufacture and sale of various types of papers such as crepe tissue, M G Kraft, carbon based tissue, poster papers, etc. and is a member of the M P Jatia Group of Companies, which includes Pudumjee Pulp & Paper Mills Limited, the flagship company and manufacturer of specialty papers. The company`s equity shares are listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange and National Stock Exchange of India.
History of the company:

The company made an application to the government for permission to import a second-hand paper machine. However, before the sanction was received, the mill was completely destroyed by fire. Meanwhile, the company received a licence to import a second-hand paper machine. Since the land where the paper mill was located was acquired by the municipal corporation, the company decided to install the imported machinery at Thergaon at Pune.
