Short term - Technical Outlook
Nifty 50 is likely to maintain a constructive bias following Tuesday’s recovery, with the index successfully reclaiming the 24,300 zone, which also coincides with the 20-day EMA. Sustaining above this level will remain essential to preserve the improving near-term structure. While a sustained breakout above 24,400 could further strengthen recovery momentum and pave the way towards the 24,500–24,600 levels.
On the downside, 24,200 now acts as the immediate support zone, followed by the crucial 24,100–24,000 region. Holding above these levels will be important to sustain the recovery, while a decisive break below 24,200 could trigger renewed selling pressure. Overall, the near-term technical outlook has improved but remains cautious. Nifty 50 will need to decisively sustain above 24,400 to establish stronger bullish momentum, while failure to hold above 24,200 could weaken the recovery structure.

Long term - Technical Outlook
Nifty 50 is trading with a cautious undertone following its recent recovery from the 23,800 level. Holding above the 24,300 zone will be crucial to sustain the ongoing recovery structure and maintain bullish sentiment. Technically, a sustained move above 24,400 could strengthen upward momentum and open the door for a rally towards the 24,500–24,600 region. However, a susatined break below 24,000 may trigger profit booking and lead to weakness towards the 23,900–23,800 support zone.

Market View
August 25th 2026
Indian equity markets opened on a cautious note, extending their recent weakness amid subdued global cues and heightened geopolitical tensions between the U.S. and Iran. Concerns over prolonged disruptions to crude-oil supplies through the Strait of Hormuz remain a key overhang for investor sentiment, leaving domestic equities vulnerable to bouts of volatility.
Crude oil remains elevated, with WTI trading around $85 a barrel, while the Indian rupee continues to face pressure near the ?95.7-per-dollar mark. RBI intervention and improved foreign portfolio flows, however, are providing some support to the currency.
Gold has seen a mild pullback after an extraordinary run fuelled by mounting concerns over U.S. fiscal sustainability and Treasury debt-buyback dynamics. Investor attention now turns to a busy U.S. data calendar, including ADP employment and consumer-confidence data today, followed by core PCE inflation and revised estimate of second-quarter GDP tomorrow. Silver is also trading weaker today but remains up more than 17% over the past month, broadly tracking gold's rally while drawing additional support from resilient industrial demand linked to solar and electronics manufacturing.
Technical view
Nifty 50
Nifty 50 opened on a lower note near the 24,176 mark, maintaining the cautious sentiment and extending the recent weakness. The index is currently trading below all its key EMAs, 20-day, 50-day, 100-day and 200-day, keeping the near-term technical structure weak. On the upside, 24,300 remains the key hurdle. A sustained move above this level could help stabilize the index, while a decisive breakout above 24,400 would be required to strengthen the recovery and pave the way towards higher resistance levels.
On the downside, the 24,100 level is likely to act as the immediate support, while sustaining above the crucial 24,000 psychological mark will be important to prevent further weakness and a possible move towards the 23,900–23,800 zone. Momentum indicators have turned weak, with the RSI hovering in the mid-40s, indicating that downside momentum continues to dominate. Overall, the near-term technical outlook remains cautious to weak.
Bank Nifty
Bank Nifty opened on a weaker note around the 57,361 level but continues to demonstrate resilience, supported by sustained buying interest in PSU banking stocks. A decisive and sustained move above the 57,800–58,000 resistance zone could strengthen the positive momentum and open the door for an advance toward the 58,300–58,500 levels.
On the downside, the 57,300–57,200 zone remains the immediate support area, with the 50-day EMA providing additional strength. Below this, the stronger support zone is placed at 57,100–57,000. The RSI is hovering around 51, indicating a neutral momentum setup and suggesting that the index could remain range-bound until a clear breakout emerges. Overall, the near-term technical outlook remains cautious.
