Short term - Technical Outlook
Bank Nifty is expected to trade with a cautious to mildly positive bias, supported by strength in the broader market and relative resilience in banking stocks. From a technical perspective, the 51,900–52,000 zone acts as an immediate resistance. A decisive breakout above this range could extend the upmove toward 52,300–52,500, backed by fresh buying momentum. On the downside, 51,200–51,000 remains a crucial support zone. A failure to hold above these levels may reintroduce selling pressure, potentially dragging the index toward 50,500. The short-term bias remains cautiously positive with relative strength, the broader trend continues to be fragile, and the index is likely to face selling pressure at higher levels unless it sustains above key resistance zones.

Long term - Technical Outlook
Bank Nifty took support from the lower levels. Holding above 52,000 could provide additional support to Bank Nifty. Technically, staying above 53,000 will help maintain a positive sentiment for the Indian market. However, a break below 52,000 could turn unfavorable for Bank Nifty and trigger weakness.

April 2nd 2026
Indian equity markets opened sharply lower, with a gap-down start reflecting a sudden shift in global risk sentiment after U.S. President Donald Trump warned of more aggressive strikes on Iran in the coming weeks, dampening hopes of a near-term de-escalation that had supported risk assets in recent sessions. The renewed rhetoric triggered a sharp spike in global crude oil prices, sustaining concerns around inflation and broader macro pressures.
Nifty 50
Nifty 50 opened with a sharp gap-down around 22,395, reflecting negative global cues and profit booking following the previous session’s gap-up recovery. The index has slipped below recent lows, indicating continued weakness in the near term. From a technical perspective, a sustained move below the 22,000 level could accelerate the decline toward the 21,700 zone, which acts as the next key support area. On the upside, 22,400 (opening zone) now serves as immediate resistance, followed by a stronger hurdle near 22,650, coinciding with the recent gap area. The gap-down opening highlights lack of strong follow-through buying after the prior session’s recovery. While oversold conditions may limit sharp downside, a decisive move above 23,000 is required to signal any meaningful recovery.
Bank Nifty
Bank Nifty opened with a sharp gap-down around the 50,645 mark, reflecting heavy profit booking in banking stocks, particularly PSU banks, and indicating weakness following the previous session’s recovery. The index is currently testing the crucial psychological support level of 50,000. A sustained breakdown below this level could intensify selling pressure, potentially dragging the index toward the 49,500–49,200 zone in the near term. A sustained breakdown below this level could intensify selling pressure, potentially dragging the index toward the 49,500–49,200 zone in the near term. On the upside, immediate resistance is placed near 50,650, while a stronger hurdle is seen around the 51,400 zone. Any recovery attempt is likely to face selling pressure at higher levels unless the index reclaims these resistance zones decisively. Overall, the bias remains bearish, as the index has failed to sustain its prior upward momentum and is now trading near key support levels, indicating underlying weakness in the banking space.
