Incorporated in February 1999, International Gemmological Institute (India) Limited (IGI) is a globally renowned organization specializing in certifying and grading diamonds, gemstones, and jewellery. IGI provides independent grading reports based on internationally recognized standards, evaluating characteristics such as cut, colour, clarity, and carat weight for both natural and lab-grown diamonds, as well as coloured stones like rubies and emeralds. The company also assesses finished jewellery for quality, craftsmanship, and value. Beyond certification, IGI offers education programs in gemology, diamond grading, and jewellery design, supported by its network of 31 laboratories and 18 gemology schools worldwide, including major markets like Antwerp, New York, Dubai, Mumbai, and Surat.
