Apollo Tyres (Apollo Tyres Q4 FY2022 Results: Profits drop 61% to Rs 113 crore)

  • Apollo tyres Q4 results are out for the Financial Year 2022. Compared to the same Q4 quarter in Financial Year 2021, there is a 61% drop in profit for Apollo tyres company.

  • In FY22, Apollo tyre's Q4 profit was Rs. 113 crores. Whereas in FY21, the same Q4 quarter, the profit was Rs. 287 crores.

  • However, investors should not go by the Apollo tyres' Q4 performance alone. They should also consider the net profit for the whole year to better understand the profit trend for Apollo tyres and then analyze why the profit dropped 61% for the last quarter in FY22.

  • Let us look at some of the other numbers released for the Apollo tyres company:

  • The net profit for the whole year was Rs. 639 crores, an increase of 82% compared to Rs. 350 crores in the previous financial year.

  • The operational revenue for the entire financial year 2022 was Rs. 20,948 crores, an increase of 20% compared to Rs. 17,397 crores in the previous financial year.

  • Specifically, the operational revenue for Q4 FY22 was Rs. 5,578 crores, an increase of 11% year on year compared to Rs. 5,026 crores for Q4 FY21.

  • Onkar Kanwar, Chairman of Apollo Tyres said “The unprecedented rise in input costs in the fiscal year 2021-22, has taken a toll on our margins, despite our internal cost control measures, and multiple rounds of price corrections undertaken in different product categories. "He attributed the increase in consolidated revenue to the robust demand in its European operations, especially in Q4, and India's healthy growth in exports.

  • Regarding Apollo shares, the Board of Apollo tyres has recommended a Dividend Payout of Rs. 3.25 per equity share (325%), which is to be approved by the shareholders at the next annual general meeting.
